World Diabetes Day (WDD) is celebrated annually on November 14. Led by the International Diabetes Federation (IDF), World Diabetes Day was created in 1991 by IDF and the World Health Organization in response to growing concerns about the escalating health threat posed by diabetes. World Diabetes Day became an official United Nations Day in 2006 with the passage of United Nation Resolution 61/225.
In connection with the awareness activities TDC have planned  several activities  during  November, the first public awareness  walk and screening  camp was arranged at Ayub National Park – Rawalpindi on 12th November 2016-  people from every walks of life taken advantage of this initiative and seek awareness from the executive penal of doctors and specialist from The diabetes centre – Islamabad.
TDC is a not for profit organization currently operating a pilot clinic at Bara kahu – murre Islamabad expressway since 2014 and have seen more than 25000 needy patients without charging them.
TDC main hospital is also under construction and hopefully will be completed next year providing all diabetes related facilities under a roof and serve all patients irrespective of their paying capabilities.
